Originally introduced in 1954, the J-160E became one of Gibson’s most iconic acoustic/electric models and is best known as John Lennon’s first Gibson acoustic guitar. This is 1964 reissue features the authentic vintage specifications, including a Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, a comfortable 1960s-style slim neck profile, a bound rosewood fingerboard with traditional trapezoid inlays, and the original stacked P-100 neck pickup. Combined with its large dreadnought body, it delivers the distinctive punchy, warm and full-bodied tone that the J-160E is renowned for, whether played acoustically or amplified. The guitar is 100% original with no repair or modification history. It shows the expected light scratches and small dings from normal use but nothing significant. Overall it remains in great condition for a nearly 30 year old Gibson. Comes complete with the original Gibson hard shell case and documents.
